A éjjeli fagyok elérték Zsámbokot is. A hetekben felszedtük a kinti zöldségeket, megtisztítottuk a területeket, hogy komposztot tudjuk szétszórni és beforgatni a talajba (traktorral és lóval egyaránt) hogy készen álljon a 2019 tavaszi vetésre.
Night frosts have arrived at Zsámbok. We have been clearing the outdoor vegetable areas so that we can spread compost and then prepare the land (both with horse and tractor work) for our spring crops in 2019.
Ahogy az éjjelek egyre hidegebbek és a nappalok egyre rövidebbek a benti zöldségeket is védenünk kell, hogy a lehető legtöbbet hozzuk ki a termésből a dobozrendszer és a piacok számára. A héten Csaba és Logan elkezdték felállítani a kereteket, melyekre rátesszük a belső fóliát, amivel takarjuk a benti zöldségeket. Elkezdtük becsukni a fóliasátrakat éjszakára, és ahogy egyre hidegebb lesz, a belső fóliákkal is betakarjuk a zöldségeket. Így kint is, meg bent is kell most dolgoznunk, hogy készen álljunk a tél megérkezésére.
As the nights get colder and the days ever-shorter, we also need to protect our indoor crops, so that we can make the most of our green winter crops for the box orders and the market. This week Csaba and Logan started to set up frames for the internal covers we use to cover our indoor crops. We have started to close the polytunnels at night, and as the weather gets colder we will cover the indoor crops with internal covers. So we need to work both indoors and outside to make sure we are ready for the winter to arrive.
