2020 januárja gyönyörű verőfényes nappal indult. A tiszta, kék ég és a hajnali fagyok üdvözöltek minket reggelenként. Ahogy felmelegszik az idő a nap folyamán, ki kell nyitnunk a fóliasátrakat, hogy elég levegőt kapjanak a növények. Egy tiszta, verőfényes napon, mint amilyen január 1.-je volt a belső fátyolfóliákat is le kell húznunk, lásd a csatolt videót. Ezek vékony kereteken nyugszanak, hogy ne érintkezzenek a növényekkel. Ezek ésszerű használatával több meleget s fényt illetve energiát tudunk biztosítani a zöldségeknek, illetve éjszaka is pár fokkal melegebb tud maradni a levegő, ezzel optimalizáljuk a zöldségek számára szükséges környezeti feltételeket. Ezt a módszert biointenzív téli termesztésnek hívjuk. Ezzel a módszerrel először 2009-ben találkoztam, mikor is a Michigan állami Egyetem biokertjét látogattam meg. Ez a módszer nagyon gyorsan terjed – ha jól tudom, mi vagyunk az elsők itt Magyaroszágon, akik ezt a módszert használják.
The year 2020 is starting brightly and beautifully. Clear blue skies with a good morning frost greeted the New Year. As the morning warms up we need to open the polytunnels to ventilate the crops. On clear days like today we need to pull back the floating fleeces, which we use as internal crop covers within the polytunnels. (see the attached video) These are supported on light frames, which keep the covers from touching the crop. With the careful handling of these covers we can harvest more warmth and light (energy) from the day, and trap some of this energy to be released back as a couple of extra degrees of heat during the night, to optimise growing conditions. We call this method "biointensive winter harvest growing". I first came across the approach in 2009 on visiting the Student Organic Farm at Michigan State University. Since then this simple technology has been spreading - as far as I know we were the first to introduce this combined method of mixed winter cropping to Hungary.
