This week on the farm was dominated by clearing up our summer sown cabbage and carrot. This is a new area for us, and as explained in an earlier newsletter, an attempt to bring in the use of small machinery for efficiency, whilst avoiding the compaction, and other negatives to the soil from heavier tractor use. So far our work has been handwork, but we hope to get our basket weeder and finger weeder working to our advantage this week. If successful, more reports in next week's newsletter.
