A hét elején kemény fagyokat beharangozva, átalakítottuk a fóliasátrakat, hogy betakarhassuk zöldjeinket a hideg ellen. Pista, Csaba és Dávid először a drótállványokat és a drótokat huzalozták be, utána betakarták az ágyásokat az ún. méretre vágott fátyolfóliával. A fóliasátrakban -7 °C-ig tudjuk védeni a növényeket a belső fólia segítségével. Ilyenkor kinn akár -10 °C, -12 °C is lehet.
With hard frosts forecast at the beginning of this week we have been transforming the inside of the polytunnels, to be able to cover the crops overnight. Pista, Csaba and Dávid first put up the wire structures and the cut floating fleece to cover the crops and provide insulation. With the internal covers we can protect the crops down to -7 °C inside the tunnels - that is equivalent to short term drops in temperature outside to -10 °C to -12 °C. Very simple but effective protection against the cold for our lovely overwintering greens!
