Garden And EcoExpo

It is great to see the garden thriving again after the stresses of the hot and dry months.  Csaba and Emese, Kati and Logan and the rest of the team have been working really hard to get the garden back to where it should be. As we see the last of the crops be sown and transplanted (not quite finished yet!) it is also a time when new ideas for the next season come into our heads, as we try to work out how we can do things better, what improvements can be made to bring more reliability to our system.

Robin, one of the Cargonómia interns (Logan's team), a young french engineer, is starting to research what kinds of irrigation and water management systems we can implement to help us reduce water use, ensure good quality of crops and at the same time improve our soils and strengthen resiliance on our small farm.  This is just the beginning of a process, but as we start to reflect back on how this season has gone so far, we also try to look forward to what can be improved for the seasons ahead.

Csaba and Logan participated in the 5th Eco Expo, the biggest organic event in Hungary. It was an opportunity for farmers to interact with each other, with various suppliers (e.g. irrigation parts, crop protection companies) and with consultants, thus facilitating cooperation. Participants were brought together under one roof to protect our nature. We presented our activities and gave them a taste of our delicious products.
