Having just returned from our first Saturday morning market at MOM Park for the new year, it always brings a sense of hope (and a little apprehension). The very direct, face-to-face meeting with customers at a traditional style market is always welcome, and we look for ways to build this kind of connection into our relationship with you, our box customers and associates.
We have had a mild period of weather through the 12 holy nights, and in spite of low light levels at this time of year, we have seen a small amount of growth from our leafy crops in the polytunnels - maybe not enough yet to boost our supplies we can offer, but at least a reminder that there is plant growth even in the depths of winter. We sowed carrots on the first two days of January, which we hope will germinate and take off when the daylight hours lengthen. Good to get them in the ground.
