Ahogy telik a január, egyre jobban belemegyünk az ínséges időszakba. Sajnos már friss termékeink száma drasztikusan lecsökken, ahogy múlnak a hetek. Így már csak kevés friss zöldlevelest tudunk adni. Viszont, a szezonális étkezésnek az a nagy előnye, hogy ugyan egy időre - pár hétre/hónapra - el kell búcsúznunk kedvenc terményeinktől, viszont amikor újra eljön a szezon, úgy érezzük, mintha régi barátainkkal találkoznánk újra, mikor frissiben kóstoljuk őket.
Habár tél kellős közepén járunk, már elkezdtünk készülni a szezonra. Csaba elhozta a vetőburgonyát előhajtatásra, mielőtt mecsináljuk a korai vetést. Logan pedig pár ágyást előkészített a fóliasátrakban az első idei vetésekhez.

As January progresses we get further into the "hungry gap". Unfortunately, at this time of year our range of fresh products reduces week by week. Sadly there are few available fresh, salad leaves now. However, part of the joy of eating seasonally is that although sometimes we have to say "goodbye" for a few weeks or months to some of our favourite products, when the season comes around again, we feel we are meeting old friends when we get to taste them afresh.
Although, we are now in the depths of winter, there are already the first stirrings of activity for the new season. Today Csaba went to collect our seed potatoes ready for chitting (pre-sprouting) before our early plantings. Also, Logan has been busy with some bed preparations in the polytunnels for some first sowings of the year.
